FlexiEnergy is an energy management system for businesses: a small box that controls your solar PV, battery and loads so you use as much of your own electricity as possible and buy from the grid at the cheapest times. It works with the inverter and battery you already have, and keeps running without internet.
One brain for all the energy in your business
Every 15 minutes the box compares solar generation, battery charge, site consumption and the market price of electricity. It then decides whether to store, use or sell energy, and switches loads on or off accordingly.
Plans ahead
It uses the weather forecast and next-day prices, so it charges the battery when it pays off.
Uses what you already have
It connects to your existing inverter and battery via network or Modbus. Nothing needs replacing.
Works offline too
Control runs directly in the box. If the internet goes down, your site keeps running on the last plan.
What is an energy management system?
An energy management system (EMS) is a control system that monitors energy generation, consumption and storage in your business. It automatically decides when to use electricity, store it in a battery or sell it to the grid. The goal is a lower electricity bill and better use of your own solar PV.
Without an EMS, solar PV, battery and loads each work on their own. Surplus power flows to the grid at low or negative prices, the battery runs empty before the expensive hour arrives, and large loads run exactly when electricity is most expensive.
FlexiEnergy is an energy management system designed for businesses with solar PV. It works with 15-minute spot electricity prices, the weather forecast, and the inverters and batteries you already have.
